Today we take a look at 2 orchids which are really.. not putting a smile on my face. These things happen too in the Orchid hobby 🙂

First off, the Cattleya intermedia var. aquinii has bloomed again and it’s far from being amazing. A while back I had some issues with its peloria and self pollination. The problems have returned and now we have a fully peloric flower that doesn;t open completely and hides its wonderful coloration from my eyes 🙁 Some more videos on it

Then there is the Vanda / Ascocenda, which I purchased as an orange one. Turns out it’s something else completely, that doesn’t impress me through its colors or shape. This one is the the most disappointing one, as I have always wanted to have an orange Vanda. Guess they will eventually need a new home, so I will include them in a giveaway if this will be the case.. guess it’s not that bad then 🙂
